NKJU International, Inc.
(New Karate and Jujitsu Union)

NKJU-I is a martial arts certifying organization. Though not directly affiliated with Korea or Japan, we are comprised of varying arts and systems teaching traditional martial arts of the Orient. In addition to certifying, setting standards by which advancement is attained, and offering  instruction, we offer a training ground where ideas and arts can be exchanged as well as enhanced! It is our goal to band together fellow martial artists who desire to share and develop themselves and students into the best possible individuals at the lowest cost. In doing so, we offer clinics, seminars, and camps periodically around the country where we might come together for training and exchanging our arts for learning and advancement preparation. Basically, we believe in training hard and often at the least cost for our members and not intruding on the dojo's training or functioning! Just offering good martial arts to those who desire it.

Richard P. Baillargeon originally started NKJU (National Karate and JuiJutsu Union) in November of 1974. For the previous 10 year from 1964-1974 Soke Baillargeon had been the US Representative of Sesishin Kai Karate Federation (SKKF) with the main art being Motobu Ha Shito Ryu, a Japanese art.  Upon the creation of NKJU, Soke Baillargeon opened up the organization to practitioners of any and all the oriental arts as he felt that they could better grow and develop in an atmosphere of exchange rather than isolation. Thus was the thrust of NKJU from 1974 until Soke Baillargeon's demise on February 14, 1989. Tola E. Lewis, Jr.,  took over as Director of NKJU-I from that point on and has followed the same premise.
